Tradition meets technology for Indigenous Services
Lethbridge College’s Indigenous Services department has combined new technology with traditional teachings to provide supports to students. Twice a week, the college’s students can meet online with the college’s Elders and Grandparents over Zoom for fireside chats as part of the Cultural Support program.

Civil Engineering Technology Program receives national accreditation
Lethbridge College’s Civil Engineering Technology program has been granted a national program accreditation by Technology Accreditation Canada. The accreditation means graduating students will now have more advantages to begin their careers, earn higher wages and have flexibility to work anywhere in Canada.

Student-designed home wins provincial award
A student-designed home has won a provincial award. The Emberly, designed by Lethbridge College Interior Design Technology student Lina Wiebe for Ashcroft Master Builder, earned an Alberta BILD award for top single-family home under $300,000.

Multimedia Production student Denise Serrano has been named valedictorian for Lethbridge College’s Fall 2022 Convocation. She will lead the procession of graduates and speak at the ceremony planned for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in the Val Matteotti Gymnasium.

Veteran researcher to lead applied research activities at Lethbridge College
Dr. Kenny Corscadden has been appointed the new Associate Vice President of Research at Lethbridge College. Corscadden joined the college in August 2017 as Dean of the Centre for Technology, Environment and Design. He will continue in that role, while also taking on the AVP Research portfolio.
New dual credit courses for area high school students
Southern Alberta high school students can get a head start on their post-secondary journey by enrolling in Lethbridge College’s new dual credit courses. Students from seven area school divisions can enrol in one of six college-level classes, earning credit at both their high school and at Lethbridge College.

High school students in southern Alberta are getting the chance to explore potential career pathways thanks to a new initiative at Lethbridge College. Exploratory programming allows students in Grades 10 and 11 to visit campus for a day and explore their program of choice. College instructors are on hand to deliver the programs, which help participants become more familiar with their chosen field of study.
