We’ve developed three wireless networks with intuitive names, enhanced security and ease of use to support your connectivity needs:

  • Students@LC: This network is for both students and staff using personal devices on campus, including all smartphones and tablets.
  • Staff@LC: This network is only for students and staff using college-issued laptops (Mac or PC).
  • Guest@LC: This network is for guests, presenters and the public.

Configuring your device

When using your device for the first time at the college, you may have to manually connect to the wireless network. Once configured, your device will automatically connect to the wireless network each time you are on campus.

          Connecting to Guest@LC
          1. On your device, navigate to the appropriate screen where a list of available wireless networks is shown.
          2. Select Guest@LC and you will automatically be connected.

          Please note: this is a slower and less secure network suitable for visitors to campus. If you have a Lethbridge College account, it is better to use the Staff@LC or Students@LC network as described at the top of this page.

          iPad and iPhone devices
          1. From the home screen, tap Settings
          2. Select Wi-Fi
          3. Select Students@LC network
          4. When prompted, enter your Lethbridge College username (“s” number) and passwordITS Page 7 - Image 1.jpg
          5. When you see the Certificate screen, tap TrustITS Page 7 - Image 2.jpg


          Android devices
          1. Open Settings
          2. Select Network & Internet
          3. Select Wi-Fi
          4. From the list of networks select Students@LC
          5. Enter the following settings:
            • Security 802.1x: EAP (if shown on your device).
            • EAP method: PEAP
            • Certificate: Do Not Validate (if shown on your device)
            • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
            • Domain: lethbridgecollege.ca
            • Identity: your Lethbridge College username (“s” number)
            • Anonymous Identity: leave blank
            • Password: your Lethbridge College password
          6. Select Connect

          1. Click the wireless (AirPort) icon in your menu bar
            • Don’t see the icon? Scroll down to the bottom of this section for instructions on how to enable it
          2. Select Staff@LC or Students@LC

          Note: If you are using a college-owned MacBook, you should use the Staff@LC network (contact the ITS Help Desk if you're unable to connect). Other MacBooks will not be able to connect to Staff@LC and will have to use Students@LC.

          1. When prompted, enter your Lethbridge College username (“s” number) and password
          2. Click Continue to accept the certificate

          If the wireless (AirPort) icon is not visible in your menu bar:

          1. Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner
          2. Select System Preferences
          3. Select Network
          4. Select Wi-Fi
          5. Select Show Wi-Fi status in menu bar
          Windows laptop

          All college-owned Windows laptops are preconfigured for Staff@LC. If you have any trouble with this connection, please double-click the Wi-Fi Helper icon on your desktop (requires a reboot of your laptop) or contact the ITS Help Desk for more assistance.

          For all other Windows laptops, connect to the Students@LC network with the following steps:

          1. Click the wireless icon in the task bar
          2. Choose Students@LC from the list of networks and click Connect
          3. Enter your Lethbridge College username (“s” number) and password
          4. Click OK then click Connect
            • If prompted to select the network location, select Public.

          Note: It may take a few moments to complete the connection.
