Rita HalmaRita was appointed to the board for a two-year term effective June 27, 2016. She began her career in the college’s classrooms as a student in the Business Administration program before heading to the University of Lethbridge, where she completed a Bachelor of Education. Rita also completed a Master of Business Education from Athabasca University.

Her career path led her to work for the Town of Taber – first as a municipal administration intern and then as assistant municipal administrator – before she returned to work at the college. Rita is the chair of the School of Business and teaches in the Business Administration program. When she isn’t in the classroom, Rita can be found volunteering her time; she served on the executive of the Lethbridge College Faculty Association, and she continues to volunteer as a board member and treasurer for several local organizations.
