Joshua Day Chief was appointed to the Lethbridge College Board of Governors for a three-year term beginning in December 2021. He is a 2013 graduate of the college’s Environmental Assessment and Restoration program and is currently the CEO of AdvancedAg Inc., a family-owned company focused on producing beneficial blends of bacteria for crop and soil health.

Before joining Advanced Ag Inc., Day Chief worked for Advanced Water Technologies, where he led and worked on research projects and studied and marketed a bacteria-based product for agriculture. This important work helped to diversify and grow the company. He has also acted as an environmental consultant for a variety of companies. Day Chief has a passion to be a leader in environmental solutions, innovation and education. From AdvancedAg’s home offices in Raymond, he has built strong ties to the southern Alberta agriculture community.

Day Chief’s ties to Lethbridge College run deep as well. He was awarded an Honouring Excellence – Rising Star alumni award in 2020, sits on the advisory board for the Integrated Agriculture Technology Centre and is a former Kodiaks volleyball student-athlete. Day Chief also serves on the Blackfoot Confederacy Tribal Council Entrepreneur Steering Committee, and he received an alumni achievement award from the Canadian Environmental Technology Advancement Corporation in 2018.
