Veteran researcher to lead applied research activities at Lethbridge College

Dr. Kenny Corscadden has been appointed the new Associate Vice President of Research at Lethbridge College. Corscadden joined the college in August 2017 as Dean of the Centre for Technology, Environment and Design. He will continue in that role, while also taking on the AVP Research portfolio.

New dual credit courses for area high school students

Southern Alberta high school students can get a head start on their post-secondary journey by enrolling in Lethbridge College’s new dual credit courses. Students from seven area school divisions can enrol in one of six college-level classes, earning credit at both their high school and at Lethbridge College.

A home designed a two Lethbridge College student was voted as a finalist for a major industry award. The Emberly, designed by Interior Design Technology student Lina Wiebe, was a finalist in the annual BILD Lethbridge awards.

Lethbridge College exploratory program highlights options for high school students

High school students in southern Alberta are getting the chance to explore potential career pathways thanks to a new initiative at Lethbridge College. Exploratory programming allows students in Grades 10 and 11 to visit campus for a day and explore their program of choice. College instructors are on hand to deliver the programs, which help participants become more familiar with their chosen field of study.

Medicine Hat and Blood Tribe police cadets graduate from Lethbridge College’s collaborative program

The graduation ceremonies of the 2018 Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) and Blood Tribe Police Service (BTPS) Cadet Training program took place in Medicine Hat on Friday afternoon. Eleven cadets took part in the 20-week training program. The cadets also received academic accreditation through Lethbridge College for the knowledge and skills they have acquired through this competency-based educational program.

Lethbridge College has been recognized as one of Canada’s fastest-growing research colleges while earning its highest ever placement in the annual ranking of Canada’s top 50 research colleges. The college placed 26th on the top 50 list released by Research Infosource and ranked third in research income growth.

Lethbridge College to celebrate graduates at Fall Convocation

Lethbridge College is ready to celebrate its fall 2023 graduates on Saturday, Oct. 14. More than 500 students are receiving degrees, diplomas, certificates and apprenticeship credentials from the college this month and approximately 180 of them are expected to cross the stage this weekend.

Lethbridge College unveiled a special display to honour former medal winners from Skills Competitions. A brief ceremony, attended by some previous winners, was held Saturday afternoon just before the winners of the South West Regional Skills high school event were announced.
