Lethbridge College ready to welcome back students

Following a year in a flexible learning environment, the vast majority of classes return to an on-campus environment this semester. College leadership has identified two key priorities for the year ahead, including keeping the entire community healthy and safe; and supporting all efforts to offer classes in-person for the entire semester.

Living on campus makes it easier to be involved with the larger campus community. Our RAs host weekly events and we also encourage attendance at campus-wide events, whether they are hosted by the students’ association, Kodiaks Athletics or other Student Affairs departments.

Lethbridge College’s premier community event returns in just four days as Coulee Fest takes place on-campus on Saturday, Sept. 17. There are activities to keep people of all ages entertained and busy for an exciting afternoon.

New tool turns Lethbridge College students’ work into real-world experience

The college has signed a partnership agreement with Riipen, a Canadian technology platform that facilitates micro-experiential learning opportunities by connecting students to industry partners. Students can work directly with an industry partner to complete work that benefits the partner, while also tying into the program curriculum, counting towards their classwork and academic outcomes.

Lethbridge College study finds fertile ground for subsurface irrigation research

A research project by Lethbridge College researchers is breaking new ground in the study of subsurface drip fertigation (SDF). The two-year study is led by Dr. Rezvan Karimi Dehkordi, research associate on the Mueller Applied Research in Irrigation Science team and funded by a grant from the Canadian Agricultural Partnership.

Testing Services project soars in first semester

Lethbridge College’s new full-class testing project passed its first semester with flying colours, according to feedback from students and faculty. The temporary facility, established for this project at TE1233, has 40 computers for full-class testing, nine testing booths for students with disabilities requiring accommodations, as well as additional space for pen and paper exams.

A rainbow took flight at Lethbridge College this morning as members of the college community gathered for the annual raising of the Pride flag. This is the third year the college has flown the colours of inclusion to show its support for LGBTQ+.

Lethbridge College ranked as one of Canada’s top 50 research colleges

Lethbridge College has once again been recognized as one of Canada’s top 50 research colleges. The college placed 50th in the 2018 rankings, released on Thursday by Research Infosource. It is the second-straight year – and the fifth time in the last six years – that Lethbridge College has been included in the rankings.
