Lethbridge College and Liquid Avatar Technologies creating a campus in the metaverse
Lethbridge College’s Centre for Technology, Environment and Design (CTED) has announced that it is partnering with Liquid Avatar Technologies Inc., a publicly traded global blockchain and fintech solutions company, to launch a first of its kind work-integrated learning opportunity for students. Liquid Avatar Technologies is providing 9,000 plots of land within its Aftermath Islands Metaverse – a network of spaces where users can create a virtual world parallel to their physical one.

Leaders in supply chain technology from across Canada are coming together to discuss innovations – in a virtual experience created by Lethbridge College students and faculty. The capstone event for a series focused on supply chain management was nearly cancelled due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but Virtual and Augmented Reality students and faculty collaborated on a solution that moved the conference to a virtual reality environment.
Student-designed home wins regional BILD award
A home designed by two Lethbridge College students has earned a major industry award. The Daphne, designed by Interior Design Technology students Jessica Banman and Teunieke Anker and built by Ashcroft Master Builder, was named top single family home in its price range at the BILD - Lethbridge Region awards.

Lethbridge College receives federal boost for research funding
Lethbridge College has received its first institutional grant funding from the federal government’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), a relative rarity for colleges. Lethbridge College’s SSHRC grant will provide $45,000 over three years to support small-scale research and related activities.
