Lethbridge College breaks ground on massive outdoor play space renovation
Lethbridge College is going back to basics for its outdoor play space. Located in the heart of the college’s campus, the current yard will be converted to a state-of-the-art outdoor play environment over the next few months.
Southern Alberta soil comes inside at Lethbridge College to test irrigation properties
Multiple tonnes of southern Alberta’s most common soil types sit inside three massive, custom-built wooden bins at Lethbridge College. Housed inside the college’s Innovation Space in the Trades, Technologies and Innovation Facility, the soil is being used to test subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) systems – without the variable factors of wind, rain or gophers. Federal Government gifts ‘invaluable’ soil monoliths collection to LC
A decades-old collection that helps identify a wide variety of soil types from across western Canada now resides at Lethbridge College. Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) has donated 110 soil monoliths to the college.
Lethbridge College biology students take part in Coulee Cleanup
It was an eye-opening day of fieldwork for dozens of Lethbridge College biology students in the General Arts and Science program, who gathered in the river valley to not only clean up trash but to document every single piece of litter they recovered. Their involvement in the Helen Schuler Nature Centre’s Coulee Cleanup was part of a class assignment called the Stewardship Project.
