When will the ceremony be held?

Friday May 26 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. 

Please visit the Ceremony and Program Order tab to find out which ceremony your program is a part of.  

A livestream feed will be available on May 26 through social media and will be available on the Ceremony page. Full access details will be provided on that page.

What time do I need to be here?

Convocates are required to be in their assigned assembly room (see Ceremony and Program Order tab, this will be updated closer to the event date) 45 minutes PRIOR to their ceremony start time.  

What about my personal items?

Please do not carry coats, bags, cameras, flowers or other souvenirs with you from the assembly area into the convocate seating area. You are not able to carry personal items across the stage and you may not get back to the same seat during the ceremony. Do not leave items in the assembly rooms. 

Items can be checked at the Coat Check room in AN1801 before going to your assembly room. The Coat Check room will only remain open for 30 minutes AFTER the ceremony ends, please be sure to pick up your items immediately after the ceremony. 

 

When and where do I pick up my cap and gown?

Your gown package can be picked up at the Bookstore daily between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday May 23 till Thursday May 25. If you are unable to come during these designated times, please email convocation@lethbridgecollege.ca to discuss other options. 

Gowns, stoles, cap and tassel are yours to keep. Degree hoods must be returned. Details on where to return the degree hoods will be emailed out to those convocates shortly before the day of the event. 

You can pick up a gown for a family member or friend. 

I am unable to attend the ceremony, how do I receive my parchment?

Convocates that are unable to attend will have their parchment mailed to them after the ceremony date. Confirm your mailing address is up to date in our system to ensure your parchment reaches you.

What’s in my gown package?

Our friendly Bookstore staff will give you a package with your souvenir gown, cap, and tassel.

If you identified as Indigenous in our system, you will also receive a LC Indigenous Services Buffalo stole to wear over your academic centre stole.

If you are graduating with Academic Honours With Great Distinction (President’s List with a 4.0 Cumulative Program GPA) you will receive a gold cord which signifies your academic achievement. If you are graduating with Academic Honours with Distinction (Dean’s List with a 3.75-3.99 Cumulative Program GPA) you’ll receive a silver cord, signifying your academic achievement.

If you are graduating from a degree program, you will be provided with your degree hood. THIS DEGREE HOOD MUST BE RETURNED after the ceremony. A $200 fee will be assessed if a student fails to return the degree hood. Communications will go out to our Degree Convocates with details about when/where you will receive your hood and where to return it following the ceremony. 

Where do I park?

Parking is free on campus Convocation Day. It is recommended that Convocates park in Lots E and F and enter through the Founders Square doors.

Will they pronounce my name correctly?

If people are constantly saying your name wrong and you’d like to avoid that before you cross the stage, please email your name, program, phone number and phonetic spelling of your name to convocation@lethbridgecollege.ca before May 1.
