When will the ceremony be held?

Saturday October 16 10 am. till approx. Noon

Do I have to wear a mask? What about the new restrictions?

Yes, masks will be required by all staff, volunteers, convocates and their guests. College masks will be provided in the gown package for our convocates.

All students, staff and guests will have to show proof of vaccination or provide a negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours of being on campus upon entry to the building.

Below is a partial list of locations in Lethbridge offering PCR or rapid COVID-19 tests:

  • Shoppers Drug Mart - Book online
  • Real Canadian Superstore pharmacy - Call 430-331-2519
  • Wholesale Club pharmacy - Call 403-320-2368
  • Medicentres - Book online

Convocates and guests are responsible for paying for their own tests.

We have two options to provide your vaccination status. Please visit the link below to do so:

If you are unable to provide proof or rapid test results, please email to discuss a refund.

The ceremony will adhere to all relevant AHS guidelines.

What if local cases continue to rise?

Lethbridge College will be working closely with AHS throughout the weeks ahead, and the college will adhere to any guidelines or restrictions that may be imposed closer to the event dates.

If you feel ill on the day of the event, please remain home. Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe and healthy.

When and where do I pick up my cap and gown?

Grads can pick up their caps and gowns from the Bookstore Thursday October 14 and Friday October 15 from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m.

Can I bring guests?

With AHS implementing public health guidelines with physical distancing restrictions to be in place for Convocation (CMOH Order 44-2021), unfortunately we can no longer have guests in the gym. As a result, and considering the number of convocates and space, we will only be able to host the ceremony with convocates in attendance. We understand how disappointing this may be for convocates and their friends and family members. The ceremony will be streamed live on the college Facebook page and will be posted to the college’s YouTube channel after the event. If this change affects your decision to participate in Fall convocation, please email before Oct. 6 so that we can arrange a refund.

What’s in my gown package?

Our friendly Bookstore staff will give you a package with your souvenir gown, cap, and tassel as well as a convocation mask.

If you identified as Indigenous in our system, you will also receive a LC Indigenous Services Buffalo stole to wear over your academic centre stole.

If you are graduating with Academic Honours With Great Distinction (President’s List with a 4.0 Cumulative Program GPA) you will receive a gold cord which signifies your academic achievement. If you are graduating with Academic Honours with Distinction (Dean’s List with a 3.75-3.99 Cumulative Program GPA) you’ll receive a silver cord, signifying your academic achievement.

If you are graduating from a degree program, you will be provided with your degree hood. THIS DEGREE HOOD MUST BE RETURNED after the ceremony. A $200 fee will be assessed if a student fails to return the degree hood. Communications will go out to our Degree Convocates with details about when/where you will receive your hood and where to return it following the ceremony.

Where do I park?

Convocates are asked to park in lots E & F on the east side of the building and follow the signage to enter through the Founders Square door. Please keep in mind you will be required to have your photo ID and proof of your vaccination status or negative rapid test result.
