In the Parts Technician Apprenticeship program, you’ll gain the knowledge of parts for the automotive sector, hardware supplies, machinery divisions and more.
This class is currently offered in a hy-flex model. Over three years, you’ll attend class just one day a week, in the afternoon and evening. On the job, you’ll get hands-on, quality training, developing expertise in identifying and cataloguing parts, preparing statements and submitting bills – earning a paycheque while you do so. In the classroom, we’ll train you in subjects like human resources and material identification that will advance your career.

- Successful completion of English 10-2 and Math 10-3, or a pass mark in all Canadian General Educational Development (GED) tests, or entrance exam.
- English 30-2, Math 30-3, Physics 20 or Chemistry 20 or Science 20 and related career and technology studies recommended.

The Parts Technician Apprenticeship is delivered on-campus through the Weekly Apprenticeship Training System and may contain hyflex components.
Apprenticeship programs require eight to 12 weeks of classroom training each year in addition to on-the-job training. You’ll work with an employer and our experienced instructors to gain the best of both worlds as you work and earn money while training.
This program includes both face-to-face/on-campus and online delivery in both synchronous (learning occurs in real-time on a set schedule) and asynchronous (learning does not occur at the same time or same place) formats.
Weekly Apprenticeship Training System
The Weekly Apprenticeship Training System involves one day of training per week at Lethbridge College throughout the length of the program. For the rest of the week, you’ll be on the job learning from your employer.
Weekly Apprenticeship Training System (WATS) programs involve one day of training at Lethbridge College per week throughout the length of the program. The hyflex design provides flexible attendance requirements, you can attend on-line or in person, which ever suits you best.

Tuition and Fees
Costs for supplies may vary considerably depending on what students already have or where they purchased their supplies; cost provided is on the moderately high end.
