Lethbridge College recruitment manager to receive U of L Alumni honour
A champion of the indigenization of Lethbridge College and advocate for Indigenous learners will be inducted to the University of Lethbridge Alumni Honour Society in October. Shanda Webber, the college’s manager of Recruitment and Indigenous Services, is one of six inductees to be honoured at the Let There be Light Night Oct. 12, part of the U of L’s fall Convocation celebrations.

Southern Alberta soil comes inside at Lethbridge College to test irrigation properties
Multiple tonnes of southern Alberta’s most common soil types sit inside three massive, custom-built wooden bins at Lethbridge College. Housed inside the college’s Innovation Space in the Trades, Technologies and Innovation Facility, the soil is being used to test subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) systems – without the variable factors of wind, rain or gophers. The applied research project is led by Dr. Willemijn Appels, the college’s Mueller Applied Research Chair in Irrigation Science.

Lethbridge College has received provincial approval for 19 additional seats in its Computer Information Technology program as part of a Government of Alberta initiative to grow technology programming across the province.
Galko Homes announced as presenting sponsor for annual Lethbridge College golf tournament
Lethbridge’s longest-running charity golf event returns to the links later this month with a new presenting sponsor. Galko Homes Master Builder is throwing its support behind the tournament that raises funds for student awards. As part of a three-year partnership, Galko’s involvement will help create a new student award named in honour of Chloe Galts, who founded Galko Homes along with her husband Marvin and his siblings.

Lethbridge College Family Orientation session planned
Students and their families have a chance to get a head start on the new school year as Lethbridge College hosts a Family Orientation session tomorrow. Beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the Food Court (AN1639), the information session is designed for parents, spouses and other adult family members of students coming to the college this fall.

Coulee Fest returns to Lethbridge College for a second year
