Some of the Wellness Services team will be in Centre Core to share a new activity each week. All supplies will be provided at no cost and snacks will be available.

Green Shirt Day

All employees and students are encouraged to wear a green shirt today to promote organ donation and organ transplantation. 

The Wellness Wednesday breakfast will have information and resources to learn about organ donation starting at around 9 am and they will be there throughout the morning.  Toby Boulet will be on campus in honour of Logan Boulet.

Safe Zone Project

A free 2 hour workshop, open to anyone, to learn more about sexuality, gender, and 2SLGBTQIA+ identities and examine prejudice, assumptions, and privilege.

As the title is, this is a safe zone to learn, ask questions, and become a better ally as we all grow our knowledge together.

Increase your awareness of supports and resources available on campus and in the community for Gender-Based and Sexual Violence. Help yourself and be prepared to support friends and others. Plus this is a great asset for your resume and professional development for many different programs. A safe, non-judgemental space to ask questions. Snacks will be provided at the in-person workshop.

Outside the main doors in the parking circle

 

Mobile Food Support is a service provided by Lethbridge Food Bank that allows community members access to food support at various locations around Lethbridge. It is open to ANYONE who may need a little extra food assistance. All they will ask for is your name and postal code.  

The food truck will be outside the main front doors of campus in the parking circle starting at 4 pm and will be there until they run out, or 6 pm at the latest.

Recovery Ally Training (virtual)

All campus community members are invited to participate in Recovery Ally Training offered by Recovery on Campus Alberta this semester.  All training is virtual and free.  There are 4 dates to choose from as well.

This 2 hour training will be great to equip you to become a great Recovery Ally on your campus!

In the training we will explore:

  • Models of Addiction
  • All-Pathways Approach to Recovery
  • Recovery Capital
  • Stigma and Bias
  • Collegiate Recovery
  • Recovery Allyship

Wellness Services has been working with Recovery on Campus Alberta to increase our recovery supports at Lethbridge College for students and employees who are living with addiction of any kind (drugs, alcohol, gambling, food, sex, etc).  This series of training is just one opportunity available to our campus community. Participants will have the opportunity to learn valuable skills and strategies to support their mental health journey. Each session will focus on a specific topic, and support individuals in developing skills to support that aspect of mental health.
