Lethbridge College is launching a new flexible option for early childhood educators who want to continue their education while continuing their work. The new Early Childhood Education (ECE) internship certificate program will start in January 2023 and has been designed for students who are already working as early childhood educators. Applications are being accepted now.

Lethbridge College is now a Principal Member of the Metaverse Standards Forum. Founded in June 2022, the forum provides a venue for collaboration among companies and leading standards organizations around the world. The goal is to foster the development of interoperability standards for an open and inclusive metaverse. While the industry-wide forum is not responsible for creating metaverse standards, member organizations will cooperate to encourage their evolution and adoption.

Lethbridge College and Kodiaks Athletics are gearing up to host the 2022 Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference (ACAC) Soccer Championships, presented by the Southern Alberta Homes Team at Royal Lepage South Country, Oct. 27 to 30.

Dr. Digvir Jayas, one of the world’s leading researchers in post-harvest handling, drying and storage of grains and oilseeds will visit Lethbridge College next week for a guest lecture to discuss solutions to food security issues.

Lethbridge College has received the largest social sciences research grant in its history, as $1 million in federal research funding will kickstart the college’s public safety applied research program.

Multimedia Production student Denise Serrano has been named valedictorian for Lethbridge College’s Fall 2022 Convocation. She will lead the procession of graduates and speak at the ceremony planned for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in the Val Matteotti Gymnasium. 

Lethbridge College and TEAM-1 Academy Inc. are building on an already successful partnership by announcing a renewed four-year agreement that will ensure students in the Wind Turbine Technician program continue to receive the best safety training possible. The latest commitment by TEAM-1 Academy is valued at $131,480 and follows a similar three-year agreement announced in 2019.

Lethbridge College will unveil a public exhibit documenting the experiences of Sixties Scoop survivors as part of Truth and Reconciliation Week Sept. 26 to 30. The exhibit, along with several other initiatives taking place on campus, will encourage individuals to educate themselves on the history of Canada’s residential school system and its harmful legacy, while memorializing the children who were lost. It’s also a time to honour residential school survivors, their families and their communities.

Lethbridge College’s premier community event returns in just three days as Coulee Fest takes place on-campus on Saturday, Sept. 17. The sounds of late summer will drift through the air with an award-winning lineup of up-and-coming artists.
