Lethbridge College is pleased to welcome Kristin Ailsby as the new chair for the Board of Governors. The Government of Alberta appointed Ailsby to the role of board chair for a term to expire on Feb. 7, 2020.

Ailsby was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2003. She is a collaborative lawyer, an experienced litigator and is actively involved in the southern Alberta community.

“I’m very pleased with the appointment,” says Lethbridge College President and CEO Dr. Paula Burns. “Kristin will bring a very open, collaborative and energetic approach to the board and I am looking forward to working with her.”

After graduating from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996, Ailsby then went onto the University of Alberta to complete her Master of Arts Degree in The Sociology of Law and her Bachelor of Laws Degree. She has previous experience at the post-secondary level as an adjunct professor in the Department of Sociology at the U of L and as chair of the U of L’s Planned Giving Committee.

“This is an exciting opportunity for me to give back to the post-secondary community,” says new board chair Kristin Ailsby. “Lethbridge College has a great foundation and I’m looking forward to being a part of everything it has to offer.”

Ailsby replaces Randy Jespersen, who completed his maximum six-year term as board chair in December. The board holds its next public meeting on Tuesday, May 9.
