Progressive Pride Flag raised at Lethbridge College
In a show of support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, Lethbridge College raised the Pride Flag on campus on Monday morning. The raising of the flag coincides with Lethbridge Pride celebrations, which are taking place throughout the week.
Bell Let’s Talk boosts LC supports to students
Lethbridge College’s efforts to support students through difficult times received a $25,000 boost from the Bell Let’s Talk Post-Secondary Fund. The college is one of 123 post-secondary institutions across Canada to receive money from the new fund to support implementation of the National Standard of Canada for Mental Health and Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students. This is the second time Bell Let’s Talk has provided grant support to Lethbridge College. In 2016, a grant supported the launch of Mental Health First Aid training at LC.
Lethbridge College Convocation ceremony goes virtual
Lethbridge College is ready to celebrate its graduates with an exciting online Convocation package. Students graduating will be able to celebrate safely at home by going to Lethbridge College’s website and social media channels on May 28 to view videos and messages that commend their achievements during their time as Lethbridge College students.
The Honourable Murray Sinclair to receive honorary degree
Lethbridge College is pleased to announce that The Honourable Murray Sinclair will be the 20th honorary degree recipient in the institution's history. Sinclair will receive a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Justice Studies as part of the college’s spring 2021 Convocation ceremonies.
Lethbridge College announces drive-thru Convocation
Lethbridge College is ready to celebrate its graduates – and will introduce several new elements this year as it does. For the spring 2021 Convocation, Lethbridge College will move to multiple small, drive-thru ceremonies on May 27 and 28 on campus.
Former transplant nurse’s daughter now waits on recipient list
Lethbridge College educational development specialist Melanie Hamilton was a nurse on a transplant team early in her career. She worked to harvest organs, appreciating the courage of families in their time or grief, and she worked on transplant patients, who were receiving a previous gift of life. She never dreamed she'd one day be a worried mom waiting for a liver donation for her youngest daughter.
Lethbridge College to welcome more students to campus this fall
