Scotiabank invests $150,000 in Lethbridge College’s Ready to Connect program

In the interest of breaking down barriers to post-secondary education, Scotiabank is investing $150,000 to help high school students in underrepresented groups succeed at Lethbridge College.

The generous gift, to be shared over the next three years, will benefit the college’s Ready to Connect program. It supports students who align with traditionally marginalized populations, including Indigenous peoples, women, visible minorities, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and people with disabilities.

Students pitch to Luco Farms in annual Tecconnect Challenge

There was a tasty twist to the Tecconnect Challenge this year as Lethbridge College students brainstormed initiatives to help a local mustard producer grow his business.

Now in its seventh year, the collaborative event groups students in the college’s Multimedia Production (MMP) and Digital Communications and Media (DCM) programs. The six teams of students were tasked with creating solutions to the pain points of an entrepreneur in the Tecconnect environment.

Congratulations to our Employee Excellence Award recipients

Lethbridge College Employee Excellence Awards recognize and celebrate employees who go above and beyond to promote our core values of people, excellence and success. This year's nine recipients were recognized by their colleagues for Leadership and Creating Community, and Service and Innovation. The recipients will be recognized at the college's annual Employee Recognition Event March 24.

Business Administration program receives CPA grant for digital accounting simulations

Lethbridge College Business Administration students, and their instructors, will soon be gaining valuable skills while saving time and paper thanks to a $41,250 grant to develop digital case studies. The funding comes from the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Education Foundation., Canada’s only accounting designation, who have recognized that Lethbridge College’s expertise in accounting extends to research and development of teaching practice as well as the teaching itself.

Lethbridge College and Liquid Avatar Technologies creating a campus in the metaverse

Lethbridge College’s Centre for Technology, Environment and Design (CTED) has announced that it is partnering with Liquid Avatar Technologies Inc., a publicly traded global blockchain and fintech solutions company, to launch a first of its kind work-integrated learning opportunity for students. Liquid Avatar Technologies is providing 9,000 plots of land within its Aftermath Islands Metaverse – a network of spaces where users can create a virtual world parallel to their physical one.

Transcripts to go digital at Lethbridge College

As part of Lethbridge College’s ongoing commitment to embracing digital solutions and adopting sustainable practices, the Registrar’s Office announced today that the college has joined a national network and will offer all official transcripts securely and electronically through MyCreds.ca.
