With growing interest, a dedicated space on campus and an official adoption into Kodiaks Athletics, Lethbridge College’s esports program is ready to hit the ground running on its first full season in the 2022-23 academic year.

Fun family activities and fascinating insight into cutting-edge agriculture research are on display as Lethbridge College takes part in Alberta Open Farm Days for the first time. Everyone is invited to register for a tour or drop in at the college’s Research Farm, located minutes east of the city, on Saturday, Aug. 13.

Lethbridge College is taking a proactive approach to creating change in the public safety field and Canada’s criminal justice system, by appointing its first President’s Applied Research Chair in Public Safety. Dr. Kirsten Fantazir has been chosen for the role and will work directly with partners to identify knowledge, skill and research gaps in the Canadian public safety industry and create potential solutions.

For many students, the road to becoming an accountant begins at Lethbridge College, with Business Administration courses that are Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) – approved. CPA is Canada’s only accounting designation. This year, Lethbridge College courses received credit again from CPA, continuing a strong relationship that began many years ago with the former designations of Chartered Accountant, Certified Management Accountant and Certified General Accountant.

Lethbridge College is throwing open its farm gates to showcase all it has to offer to Western Canada’s agricultural community. The floor of the Val Matteotti Gymnasium at Lethbridge College is sporting a brand-new look these days. After years of the status quo, the most recent sanding and refinishing project has revealed a bold, new court. At centre, is a black Kodiaks logo emblazoned over powder-blue stain – a prominent colour of the college’s athletics teams.

Local youth can discover their inner detective at Lethbridge College this summer as they learn how to survey a crime scene through the eyes of a forensic scientist. The hands-on fun is part of a new summer camp called Forensic Explorers.

You don’t need to have grown up on a farm to forge a successful career in agriculture. Just ask Autumn Barnes, Lethbridge College’s manager of the Integrated Agriculture Technology Centre (IATC), whose curiosity, search for purpose, and post-secondary education have helped her grow within the agriculture community.
