Lethbridge College’s premier community event returns in just four days as Coulee Fest takes place on-campus on Saturday, Sept. 17. There are activities to keep people of all ages entertained and busy for an exciting afternoon.

Lethbridge College’s premier community event returns in just five days as Coulee Fest takes place on-campus on Saturday, Sept. 17. The youngest members of the community will have plenty of opportunities to get involved, beginning with the always popular petting zoo.

Lethbridge College is proud to unveil a new Indigenous logo for its home court– the first institution in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) to incorporate Indigenous culture in its gymnasium floor design. The new design of the gym includes the familiar fierce Kodiak bear at the centre, but it is now surrounded by a number of meaningful Indigenous images, designs and words. The design will also be worked into future uniforms for student-athletes.

As part of its commitment to education as a fundamental human right, Lethbridge College has created a Humanitarian Program to offer financial support to students recognized under Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. The new award expands on a commitment made to Colleges and Institutes Canada in April 2022, to offer scholarships to displaced Ukrainian students.

Lethbridge College researchers have formed one of just 15 innovation teams selected from across Canada to explore and develop new tools and technologies that will enable sustainable, year-round berry farming. The Homegrown Innovation Challenge delivers funding to participating teams to pursue innovative ideas that will support Canada’s berry industry.

Hundreds of first-year students will be exploring Lethbridge College on Tuesday, Sept. 6 as New Student Orientation (NSO) kicks off the Fall 2022 semester. The annual event serves as the main welcome and introduction for new LC students and is a great way to help ease the transition to college life before classes start Wednesday.

Visitors to Whoop-Up Days are immersing themselves in a whimsical train excursion thanks to the work of two Lethbridge College Multimedia Production students. The projection mapping performance, created by Denise Camille Serrano and Aaren Agaton, is on display all week at La Galleria, a curated creative space for local artists in the Main Pavilion of Lethbridge and District Exhibition.

Lethbridge College’s Board of Governors have named Dr. Brad Donaldson as the ninth President and CEO in the college’s history. Joining Lethbridge College is the next step in Donaldson’s long journey as a leader in Alberta’s post-secondary environment.

Two of Canada’s hottest up-and-coming country entertainers are set to hit the 1^st Choice Savings stage as Coulee Fest returns to Lethbridge College on Sept. 17. A full day of entertainment will be capped by Ontario-based brothers Lemon Cash, which will follow a set from award-winning Alberta-based artist Hailey Benedict.
