New learners begin their Lethbridge College journey at New Student Orientation
Ensuring that learners are prepared to “Arrive and Thrive” is the goal of Lethbridge College’s annual New Student Orientation. Nearly 1,100 new students will take part in a half-day of sessions and activities designed to get them ready for student life on Tuesday, Sept. 4, before classes begin for first-year and returning students on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Lethbridge College recruitment manager to receive U of L Alumni honour
A champion of the indigenization of Lethbridge College and advocate for Indigenous learners will be inducted to the University of Lethbridge Alumni Honour Society in October. Shanda Webber, the college’s manager of Recruitment and Indigenous Services, is one of six inductees to be honoured at the Let There be Light Night Oct. 12, part of the U of L’s fall Convocation celebrations.
Lethbridge College open for Labour Day weekend
Classes for new and returning students don’t begin until Sept. 5, but we know that you have other things you need to do to get ready for the year ahead. So, we have a large number of services open over the Labour Day long weekend to make sure you’re ready.
Lethbridge College Family Orientation session planned
Students and their families have a chance to get a head start on the new school year as Lethbridge College hosts a Family Orientation session tomorrow. Beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the Food Court (AN1639), the information session is designed for parents, spouses and other adult family members of students coming to the college this fall.
Explorers from Quebec immerse themselves in language and culture at Lethbridge College
A group of 38 men and women from Quebec are immersing themselves in the English language and experiencing southern Alberta culture from a home base at Lethbridge College. The participants are living and learning in Lethbridge for five weeks as part of the Explore bursary program that encourages them to build language skills and discover another part of Canada.
Lethbridge College’s Pride week off to a soaring start
A rainbow took flight at Lethbridge College this morning as members of the college community gathered for the annual raising of the Pride flag. This is the third year the college has flown the colours of inclusion to show its support for LGBTQ+.
Condolence Notice - Dr. Keith Robin
A member of the Lethbridge College Hall of Fame, former vice-president academic and first executive director of the college foundation died Friday in Lethbridge. Dr. Keith Robin was 92.
Alumnus hopes donation of wildlife collection inspires college students
Peter Balagus (Environmental Science 1979) donated 24 birds of prey and a cabinet of about 200 other specimens, including small mammal skins, skulls and skeletons, bird skins and wings, which students can now use in their studies.
