  • Deadline to nominate candidates for Honouring Excellence awards. Any of the more than 30,000 college graduates, of any age and in any field, are eligible to be nominated for one of four Honouring Excellence awards, based on their work in their careers, in the community and in the college. The awards will be presented at a recognition event on April 27, 2017.

  • As part of the college’s FNMI Cultural Support Program, Blackfoot Elder Peter Weasel Moccasin will be available to meet with students in the FNMI Student Lounge (AN1501).

  • In an effort to make sure FNMI students are aware and taking advantage of available student awards, an appies and award applications event will take place in the FNMI Student Lounge (AN1501).

  • The 18th annual Tiffin Conference takes place at the Lethbridge Lodge. A one-of-a-kind event in southern Alberta, the conference has been an important platform for discussing current issues and trends in the red meat industry. Over 350 agricultural producers, students and industry experts attend this event every year.

  • As a new health and wellness initiative, FNMI Services is hosting a talking circle. This event, involving local Elders, creates a safe and supportive environment for students to talk about issues affecting them. The event will take place in the FNMI Student Lounge (AN1501).

Thursday, Jan. 26, 7 to 8:30 p.m.

  • A presentation titled “Helping children learn” will take place in the E.C. Fredericks Theatre. This free session will help parents and others in their efforts to help children who are struggling in school, including those dealing with social and behavioural issues. The presentation is facilitated by long-time educator Lorraine Leishman. More information and registration is available online.

  • The annual Winter Open House takes place on campus. Those interested in what the college has to offer can take campus tours, talk with faculty or representatives from all program areas, explore our wide range of academic programs, student services, and student activities and organizations, visit interactive program areas and apply on the spot. Those who register in advance and attend the Open House are eligible to win a $1,500 tuition credit. Registration information will be available in January.

  • The annual Winter Walk will take place on campus. Organized by the college’s Be Fit for Life Centre, the walk has participants leave from Centre Core for a 15-minute outdoor walk to promote getting outside in the winter months and active living.

Lunch express at the Garden Court restaurant

  • If you want a quick and tasty lunch from one of Lethbridge’s best kept secrets, then Lethbridge College’s lunch express is for you. Prepared by our phenomenal college Culinary program students, the lunch express is served between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the Garden Court restaurant, and will be available on Jan. 18, 19, 25 and 26, as well as Feb. 1 and 2. Student massage clinic

  • The student massage clinic re-opens on Jan. 17 with a new group of therapists. The clinic is open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. More information is available online. To book your appointment, call Bonnie at 403-329-7274.
