Lethbridge College, in collaboration with RBC Foundation, is hosting FNMI Awareness Days on campus Oct. 18-20. The event will be a chance to celebrate the pride, history and knowledge that are at the heart of Canada’s FNMI communities.

The college tipi will be raised at 9 a.m. Tuesday to kick off the event, followed by opening ceremonies at 11:30 a.m. in Centre Core and a feast of traditional stew and bannock at the Piita Pawanii Centre.

“This year’s FNMI Awareness Days showcases some incredible talent,” says Robin Little Bear, FNMI manager. “The event brings a wonderful energy to the college that solidifies our commitment to sharing the heritage and traditions of the FNMI people.”

Events include a traditional fashion show, drumming and dancing, as well as a hoop-dance demonstration. A full schedule of events is available online. Artisans and craftsmen will be exhibiting their wares from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. daily in Centre Core.
