About 200 high school students immersed in college experience

Experiential Learning week Experiential Learning Week returned to Lethbridge College for a third year, bigger than ever.

The week, May 7-11, saw nearly 200 high school students from across the region taking part in college-level programs in an area of individual interest. The students came from nine high schools, and their numbers grew exponentially from the 43 students who were on campus a year ago.

Students chose from one of 13 educational tracks, encompassing nearly every Lethbridge College program — from trades to agriculture, health and wellness to justice, business to environmental science.

There was also a specially designed Leadership Workshop: Design Thinking for Youth Change-Makers track that provided opportunities to develop leadership skills in students. Students received high school credits for their participation.

Experiential Learning Week was funded in part by a Government of Alberta Regional Partnership Grant with the purpose of developing high school to post-secondary pathways.
