The second year of the Ashcroft Design Challenge saw Lethbridge College Interior Design Technology students pitch their home design concepts they have been working on since January to representatives from Ashcroft Master Builder on Monday afternoon. Ashcroft will select a winning design and will build the home, as well as offer paid internships to the winning team members.

Tradition meets technology for Indigenous Services

Lethbridge College’s Indigenous Services department has combined new technology with traditional teachings to provide supports to students. Twice a week, the college’s students can meet online with the college’s Elders and Grandparents over Zoom for fireside chats as part of the Cultural Support program.

Lethbridge College’s Geomatics Engineering Technology program has received national recognition. On Thursday, the Technology Accreditation Canada presented faculty with a certificate that signifies the program has been nationally accredited.

Lethbridge College START Centre receives $700,000 grant

Lethbridge College has received a significant boost toward its vision of making Alberta a global leader in virtual and augmented reality. Alberta Innovates announced that the college has received a $709,202 grant as part of the Ecosystem Development Partnerships program. The grant will help the college’s Spatial Technologies Applied Research and Training (START) Centre serve as a provincial hub for Alberta’s extended reality (XR) technology, services and operations.

A student-designed home has won a provincial award. The Emberly, designed by Lethbridge College Interior Design Technology student Lina Wiebe for Ashcroft Master Builder, earned an Alberta BILD award for top single-family home under $300,000.

Open to our members and available for rent to the community, high school classes and community groups, our four international squash courts are always teeming with life. Two of the courts are convertible to racquetball dimensions. So whether it’s squash or racquetball that gets your heart racing, you can find your fix at Lethbridge College.

Squash lessons are also available for both, new and seasoned players.
