Dependent on your status in Canada, you may study for as little as four weeks or longer in any of our term programs. All students are given a placement test for all skill areas at the beginning of their studies; our programming follows the nationwide Canadian Language Benchmarks (language.ca) for assessments, and therefore can ensure quality placement and accurate assessments throughout each semester.

Admission to PEAC may come with a conditional offer of acceptance to a certificate, diploma or degree program.
If you meet the requirements for conditional post-secondary acceptance, you must submit your application declaring your choice of certificate, diploma or degree program. If you do not wish to pursue a conditional offer for a post- secondary credential after your language learning, please apply to PEAC only.
If you have an IELTS of 5.0 or above, or equivalency, in all language skills, you may qualify for a conditional offer of acceptance to a post-secondary program. In-house language testing will verify language skills; if skills do not meet requirements, the conditional offer of acceptance to the post-secondary program may be rescinded. Admission to your program of choice will be dependent upon the completion of the full-time pathway program.

A personalized learning experience
We’ve implemented the portfolio-based language assessment approach in all ESL courses.
A personalized learning experience
The portfolio-based language assessment (PBLA) is aligned with the Canadian Language Benchmarks – Canada’s national standard for recognizing language proficiency in ESL. The implementation of PBLA into all our English language courses means you’ll be able to:
- identify your English language learning needs
- set your own learning goals
- document your progress
- comment on your work
- reflect on your achievements
It’s an alternative to traditional testing and gives you the tools to undertake self-assessment and reflection. These will have a positive effect on your learning.
