Innovative Lethbridge College Police Cadet Training program earns national gold award
Lethbridge College received a gold Program Excellence award at the Colleges and Institutes Canada annual conference The award was for the competency-based Police Cadet Training program. The innovative and collaborative program meets the specific needs of southern Alberta police services and is the only police training program of its kind at a public college in Canada.
Lethbridge College announces first winners of Ashcroft Design Challenge
Two Lethbridge College Interior Design Technology students have been named the inaugural winners of the Ashcroft Design Challenge. First-year designer Lina Wiebe and second-year animator and virtual reality creator Jada Kot were selected as the winners by a panel of judges from Ashcroft Master Builder.

In its 50th year, Lethbridge College’s LEO Club raises nearly $8,000 for community organizations
During its 50th year, the Criminal Justice - Policing students in Lethbridge College’s LEO Club wanted to give back even more than usual to their community. They did just that, taking part in more than 40 volunteer events, providing more than 1,000 hours of volunteer time and raising nearly $8,000 to support a dozen different community and global organizations.
Students lead the charge on groundbreaking virtual reality conference
What began as a year-end capstone project for Lethbridge College students has turned into a world-leading virtual and augmented reality conference. Merging Realities: An Event of Multiple Perspectives is a full-day conference, hosted entirely in virtual reality. This is the first time that hosting an entire conference in a virtual space has ever been attempted.

Lethbridge College celebrates the end of another successful academic year at its Convocation ceremony on Friday. The 61st Convocation in Lethbridge College history begins at 1 p.m. at the Enmax Centre.

The inaugural winners of the Ashcroft Design Challenge will be announced as part of surRENDER, an annual showcase for the Interior Design Technology program. surRENDER will also feature virtual reality demonstrations, student work showcases and the opportunity to network with instructors and industry professionals in a relaxed setting.
Fashion in focus at collaborative “I’ll Show You Mine” event
There will be plenty of glitz and glamour this weekend as Lethbridge College and the University of Lethbridge present the second annual “I’ll Show You Mine… Deconstructing Costume, Constructing Fashion” event. The evening combines the college’s annual fashion show with a collaborative art exhibition.
Alberta colleges make significant impact on provincial economy
Alberta's colleges make a significant financial impact province-wide, adding $4.8 billion to Alberta’s economy in 2015-16 alone. This is equivalent to 43,520 jobs supported in the province. A new, province-wide study indicates that investing in colleges creates a significant return on investment for students, taxpayers and society.
