Lethbridge College set to host Coulee Fest 2022

Bring on the family fun, food trucks and live music – Coulee Fest is back! After a two-year hiatus, the popular event will return to the Lethbridge College campus Saturday, Sept. 17. Festival goers will be able to enjoy live music, carnival games and other family entertainment, food trucks and beer gardens - even a pie eating contest!

Instructors recognized with Faculty Association/Students’ Association Teaching Excellence awards

COVID may have changed the college experience the past two years, but it seems to have inspired students’ appreciation of their teachers at Lethbridge College. The Lethbridge College Faculty Association (LCFA)/Lethbridge College Students’ Association (LCSA) Teaching Excellence Awards resumed after a two-year break, and 170 students stepped up to nominate 83 faculty members. The awards committee recognized two Rookie of the Year recipients for new instructors for 2020-21 and 2021-22, and one Teaching Excellence Award recipient. All three recipients are also graduates of Lethbridge College.

Betty Ann Little Wolf to receive Lethbridge College Honorary Degree

Lethbridge College is pleased to announce that Betty Ann Little Wolf (Anatsi’piiksaakii – Pretty Bird) will be the 21st honorary degree recipient in the institution’s history. Little Wolf will receive an Honorary Baccalaureate Degree as part of the college’s Spring 2022 Convocation ceremonies.

Lethbridge College rebrands one of three Business Administration diploma majors

Lethbridge College is rebranding one of three majors offered in its Business Administration diploma program. As of Fall 2022, the General Business major will be renamed Business Operations. The two-year diploma includes a common first year, followed by the choice of one of three majors in the second year: Business Operations, Management and Accounting.

Lethbridge College invites high school gamers to esports tournament

Some of the most well-known videogame characters will clash on screen this weekend as Lethbridge College opens its doors for a high school esports tournament. Southern Alberta students, in Grades 9 through 12, can register to battle it out at the Super Smash Bros tourney aptly named “Kodiaks Spring Smash.” The game features characters from various Nintendo franchises as players try to knock their opponents off the stage and out of bounds.

Lethbridge College announces valedictorian, prepares to celebrate grads May 27

Natural Resource Compliance student Matthew Henry has been named valedictorian for Lethbridge College’s Spring 2022 Convocation. He will lead the procession of graduates and speak at the ceremony planned for May 27 in the Val Matteotti Gymnasium. Henry, who was also valedictorian of his high school class of 13 students in Treherne, Man., has a 4.0 grade point average and is heavily involved in college and community organizations.

Lethbridge College employees celebrate educational achievements

The pursuit of education extends beyond just the students at Lethbridge College, as numerous faculty and staff members invest the time to follow their own educational pathways. The college’s Alumni Engagement department hosted its first “You Are Remarkable” event, which recognized college employees who have completed PhD, master’s and bachelor’s programs over the past two years.
