An already unique opportunity for Lethbridge College students had a new twist this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The annual Tecconnect Challenge sees students create a marketing plan and collaterals to help solve real-world challenges for a local entrepreneur.

Charmed Playhouses has found its niche where imagination meets design. Known for its extravagant, high-quality playhouses that populate backyards around the world, Charmed is embarking on a new adventure, and bringing Lethbridge College students along for the ride.

In need of a logo to identify a newly-formed organization aimed at boosting the regional economy, Canada’s Western Gateway Trade and Logistics Corridor turned to Lethbridge College for a student design.

An award-winning lineup of authors and illustrators from across North America took the time to visit with creative writing students this semester to talk about their careers, writing and illustrating styles as well as to provide tips for students looking to begin their own careers.

A team of Lethbridge College students have used their ingenuity and skills to build a better lacrosse stick. By improving the design of the primary equipment for the oldest organized sport in North America, they’ve received recognition from the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta as a finalist for the 2020 Capstone Project of the Year Award.

Leaders in supply chain technology from across Canada are coming together to discuss innovations – in a virtual experience created by Lethbridge College students and faculty. The capstone event for a series focused on supply chain management was nearly cancelled due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but Virtual and Augmented Reality students and faculty collaborated on a solution that moved the conference to a virtual reality environment.

Lethbridge College students had many thoughts, concerns and suggestions when it came to their education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The college has listened to its students and responded with new initiatives, tools and resources for the upcoming Fall 2020 semester.

The graduation ceremonies of the 2020 Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS), Blood Tribe Police Service (BTPS) and Taber Police Service (TPS) Cadet Training program took place on Friday. Twelve cadets graduated from the 20-week training program, including one TPS, four BTPS and seven MHPS cadets.

When the global pandemic hit, second-year Child and Youth Care students found themselves distanced from their final practicums, a key requirement to program completion. By applying knowledge and skills, they've created resources that could be beneficial to agencies long after the students have moved on.
