News Release

Happy campers are set to return to Lethbridge College’s campus this summer. Registration is now open for a wide variety of Lethbridge College summer camps that will teach skills, keep children and teenagers active, and create comradery among campers.

Whether it is hands-on skills like carpentry or welding, eye-opening exploration of the ecosystem around them, using the latest technologies to create video games or animation, getting the body moving through dance, learning mountain biking skills, or taking part in sport camps designed by Kodiaks coaches, there is something for everyone.

Registration for most summer camps is open now, while registration for Kodiaks camps will be available June 21. The full list of camps is available at lethbridgecollege.ca/summercamps.

“We are thrilled to once again be able to offer summer camps for the southern Alberta community,” says Jason Donkersgoed, Lethbridge College Director of Business Development. “Our summer camps take the specialized skills of Lethbridge College faculty members and create hands-on, interactive experiences that are both fun and intellectually stimulating for campers. With the easing of provincial health measures, we are excited that these camps are once again an option for our community.”

This summer marks the return of the well-known Kodiaks volleyball and basketball camps, after the cancellation of camps in 2020. Open to players between 11 and 18 years of age, the camps feature instruction from current Kodiaks coaches and players, who help prepare players for the season ahead.

“When we say ‘we are all Kodiaks,’ that extends to the entire southern Alberta community,” says Todd Caughlin, manager of Kodiaks Athletics. “This is a chance for young players to hit the court in our Val Matteotti Gymnasium, learn from our Kodiaks coaches and pick up skills that will help them throughout their own seasons in an environment that promises fun and excitement.”

All camps will include safety protocols in line with Government of Alberta public health measures. Ages and availability dates vary by camp, so anyone interested is encouraged to look at the full details available at lethbridgecollege.ca/summercamps.
