Lethbridge College’s Occupational Health and Safety team is connected to a network of like-minded organizations that are provided a range of resources for employees, like us, who are adjusting to home offices and adjusting to isolation.

  • The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has made a series of its online products and resources available free of charge to help workplaces like ours and employees like us during the COVID-19 pandemic. Courses include a series on mental health and wellness, office ergonomics (who else is missing their office chair right now?) and even pandemic awareness and planning.
  • You can also access free recordings of a weekly webinar series on Tactics for Maintaining Mental Fitness during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The series was created in partnership with the Alberta Municipal Health and Safety Association (AMHSA), Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA), Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) and Howatt HR. New topics are added weekly. Here are the topics already online:
  • Macro tactics for maintaining mental fitness during the pandemic and specific tactics related to mental health, stress and resilience foundation, 45 minutes. You will also find a survey you can do yourself to assess your own mental health.
  • Gratitude, 31 minutes.
  • Creating social connections, 34 minutes.
