Lethbridge College is saddened by the death of Arthur J. (Art) Ferrari (Merchandising Administration 68) and offers its deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

 

Ferrari, age 63, passed away on Saturday, July 30 in Lethbridge.

A partner in Ferrari Westwood Babits Architects, Art began his post-secondary education at Lethbridge College in 1966 before obtaining a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences at the University of Lethbridge. After several years in the business community, he returned to school, obtaining a degree in architecture from the University of British Columbia. He was a past-president of the Alberta Association of Architects and a Fellow, Royal Architecture Institute of Canada.

Ferrari Westwood Babits Architects have helped shape the community through creations such as St. Martha’s Church, Lethbridge Regional Police headquarters, Martha’s House, several award winning schools and City Hall. Ferrari and his colleagues were the prime consultants for Kodiak House, the newly opened residence on the Lethbridge College campus. The firm is involved with the college’s Campus Development Plan, a vision for the school for the next 30 years.

Ferrari served on the Lethbridge College Alumni Advisory Council, the U of L Senate, the U of L Board of Governors, two terms as the President of the U of L Alumni Association and was involved in numerous community groups.

In 2006 he was inducted into the U of L Alumni Association Honour Society and received the Distinguished Alumnus award from Lethbridge College in 2007.
