Donate career-ready clothes to college students

Lethbridge College Student Services and Lethbridge College Students’ Association are joining forces to create “Career Closet.” From now to Sunday, March 24, donations of gently used clothes, shoes or accessories can be dropped off at the LCSA office. The clothes, suitable for everything from office jobs to trades, will be displayed at a Career Closet event on March 28, giving students access to clothing for job interviews and first jobs. Donations should be clean and ready for hanging and display.

Tuesday, March 12 through Thursday, March 14, 5 to 8 p.m.

Enjoy evening dining in the Garden Court

The Garden Court Restaurant will be open for fine dining this week. This is an opportunity for our Culinary Arts students to gain real-world experience operating a restaurant and for southern Albertans to experience some incredible gourmet cuisine. Call 403-320-3230 or visit the Garden Court’s Facebook page to reserve your space.

Celebrate Pi Day

The Learning Café will celebrate Pi Day on March 14 (get it? 3.14!  Ha!). Pi is a mathematical constant that is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. The Learning Café will have various pi-type activities including Pietry (poetry with a “pi” theme – pi-ku, anyone?); calculate your age in “pi”; a memorization challenge (how many digits of pi can you memorize correctly); and help us make a pi chain. The Buchanan Library and the Digital Learning Team in the library will have pi activities, too. Stop by to participate in activities to be entered into a draw for prizes, including a chance to win a Culinary Arts pie (of the delicious, not mathematical variety). The goal is to have some lighthearted math fun and bust some stress at this busy time of the semester.

Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
