This week’s movie recommendation from film buff and funding specialist Michael Doughty is another inspired pick for our time.
Hopefully, we’re all adapting to being stuck at home now. But what if you were stuck somewhere else? The Terminal (2004), directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks, is inspired by the true story of an international traveller who is suddenly left stranded in an airport when he is denied entry to the United States but, due to a military coup, can’t return home. For nine months, he lives in the airport terminal, befriending staff and fellow travellers.
Roger Ebert called The Terminal “a sweet and delicate comedy; a film to make you hold your breath, it is so precisely devised.”
