Editor, Wider Horizons

Wider Horizons, which launched in 2007 as part of the college's 50th year celebrations, is edited by Lisa Kozleski.

The magazine has won multiple awards during the last four years, including gold awards in the CASE Circle of Excellence awards program for community college magazines. In addition, Lisa’s cover story on two graduates who were Lost Boys of the Sudan, from the spring 2016 issue of Wider Horizons, won a gold award for feature writing in the most recent CASE VIII competition.

Lisa’s love affair with sharing good stories goes back as long as she can remember. She received a diary on her seventh birthday from her aunt, who encouraged her to “write from the heart, as all true authors do.” She’s been trying to do that ever since. She has worked at newspapers of all sizes, from the weekly South Pierce County Dispatch in Eatonville, Wash., to the Philadelphia Inquirer, and after moving to Canada in 2003, she spent seven years teaching university writing classes. In 2011, she started working at Lethbridge College as a writer and editor and loves every part of the magazine planning, writing, editing and publication process.
