Lethbridge College’s magazine, Wider Horizons, has been named the best community college magazine in North America for the fourth time in the last five years in the CASE Circle of Excellence award competition.

Leth_ridge C_llege joins #MissingType campaign to drive home the need for blood donations
Lethbridge College is losing letters to support Canadian Blood Services’ #MissingType initiative. Starting today, the college will be removing letters A, B and O from its logo on its institutional website and social media accounts. The letters represent the three main blood types, and by removing them temporarily, Canadian Blood Services and the college intend to highlight the reality that if not enough new people donate blood, these “types” will go missing in years to come.

Lethbridge College’s Health Care Aide program expands to meet market demand
To meet industry demand, Lethbridge College is expanding available seats in one of health care’s fastest-growing professions. The Health Care Aide certificate program will increase the number of available seats from 24 to 30 and will also add a new part-time online cohort for 16 students.

Peter Balagus (Environmental Science 1979) donated 24 birds of prey and a cabinet of about 200 other specimens, including small mammal skins, skulls and skeletons, bird skins and wings, which students can now use in their studies.

Lethbridge College’s Agricultural Enterprise Management (AEM) program kicks off this September, and those students enrolled in full-time AEM studies in its first year will receive a one-time $1,000 tuition credit.

Medicine Hat and Blood Tribe police cadets graduate from Lethbridge College’s collaborative program
The graduation ceremonies of the 2018 Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) and Blood Tribe Police Service (BTPS) Cadet Training program took place in Medicine Hat on Friday afternoon. Eleven cadets took part in the 20-week training program. The cadets also received academic accreditation through Lethbridge College for the knowledge and skills they have acquired through this competency-based educational program.
Stranville Living makes major donation to Lethbridge College
The sale of a new home in west Lethbridge has led to an $81,002.65 gift from Stranville Living Master Builder to Lethbridge College as part of the final year of The College Home project. The lead builder and returning partner announced the donation this morning.
