Here is a look at events happening on the Lethbridge College campus from Oct. 15-20, 2019.

Lethbridge College’s Engineering Design and Drafting Technology program has been granted a national program accreditation by Technology Accreditation Canada. The accreditation means graduating students will now have more advantages to begin their careers, earn higher wages and have flexibility to work anywhere in Canada.

Corus Entertainment is investing in the future of Canadian journalism, with a $52,000 gift to Lethbridge College. The gift will support the creation of a state-of-the-art active-learning newsroom, as well as create new awards that will financially support Digital Communications and Media students.

A new partnership with TEAM-1 Academy Inc. means one of the world’s leading safety and rescue training companies will provide world-class training and equipment to students and faculty in Lethbridge College’s Wind Turbine Technician program.

The Lethbridge College campus will re-open with classes and business as usual on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Lethbridge College is pleased to welcome Michael Marcotte as the new chair of the Board of Governors. The Government of Alberta appointed Marcotte to the role of board chair for a three-year term.

Lethbridge College invites all students and staff to join in Orange Shirt Day on Monday with activities that include a week-long display about residential schools that is open to the public. The exhibit includes the residential school experience from the perspective of First Nations, Métis and Inuit people of Canada.

Lethbridge College has received a major award from Canadian Blood Services. The college earned the Regional Partner Award for the Prairie Region at the annual Honouring Canada’s Lifeline event on Monday evening in Ottawa.

Looking to support and augment southern Alberta’s agriculture industry, Lethbridge College has introduced its first applied research chair in Agricultural Engineering and Technology. Dr. Chandra Singh joins the college’s Centre for Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship as the latest stop in a distinguished professional and academic career.
