Be Ready to celebrate! Coulee Fest – Lethbridge College’s free family festival – will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. on September 16.

Dr. Brad Donaldson, Lethbridge College President and CEO, has been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal in recognition of his dedication and service to adult education. Donaldson received the medal at a special ceremony during the Alberta Post-Secondary Network meeting March 2.

Visitors to Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden are now able to experience yet another memorable sensation. The garden’s new Nikka Yuko Kamakura (Igloo) domed experience uses 360-degree video to immerse visitors in stunning visual displays of traditional Japanese and Canadian culture and environments.

As part of its commitment to education as a fundamental human right, Lethbridge College has created a Humanitarian Program to offer financial support to students recognized under Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. The new award expands on a commitment made to Colleges and Institutes Canada in April 2022, to offer scholarships to displaced Ukrainian students.

For the ninth year in a row, Lethbridge College has received top marks from Alberta’s Auditor General for its financial reporting. The college received all green lights – the top designation possible – in the 2021 Auditor General’s annual Report on Post-secondary Institutions released earlier this year.

There will be no chance for summertime boredom to set in at Lethbridge College, where more than 20 exciting summer camps are ready to roll this summer. The camps will be filled with fun, camaraderie and activity for children and teenagers alike, while introducing campers to a wide array of skills and unique experiences.

Lethbridge College’s LC Extension is southern Alberta’s learning solution partner, helping businesses identify and solve their needs. To support this, LC Extension has added two new key team members who are experienced in working with people to create real-world solutions that make a difference.

Dr. Paula Burns has announced she will leave her position as Lethbridge College President and CEO at the end of May. Burns, who joined the Lethbridge College community in February 2013, will take on a new challenge as President and CEO of Langara College in Vancouver.

As the reality of an evolving Internet becomes more mainstream, so does interest in the metaverse – a network of spaces where you can create a virtual world parallel to your physical one. Lethbridge College is bringing together some of the world’s leading voices on this computing revolution for NEXT: Beyond the Metaverse a free, virtual conference.

The Government of Alberta has appointed a new member to Lethbridge College’s Board of Governors. Joshua Day Chief joins the board for a three-year term effective immediately and running through December 2024.
