News Release

Late last summer, the Town of Taber expressed interest in Lethbridge College re-establishing a presence in Taber. A Community Advisory Council has been established, and its first order of business is determining the educational needs of Taber and the surrounding area.

Residents of Taber and its nearby communities now have the chance to provide feedback on the educational needs of the community and guide future programming. The Community Survey of Educational Needs is available online and will help gauge how Lethbridge College can serve the region.

“Part of Lethbridge College’s mandate is to support educational opportunities throughout southern Alberta,” says Sandra Dufresne, Lethbridge College Director of External Relations and Community Engagement. “This survey is an opportunity for us to hear directly from those who would most likely use our services so that we can determine relevant programming and opportunities for the residents of Taber and its surrounding area.”

The Community Survey of Educational Needs is available online through the Lethbridge College website to everyone living in the Taber area aged 18 and older. The 19-question survey takes approximately five-to-10 minutes to complete and covers topics such as areas of educational interest, concerns about accessing post-secondary education and educational delivery formats.

Members of the Community Advisory Council are the Town of Taber; Taber and District Community Adult Learning Association; Taber Regional Joint Economic Development Committee; Horizon School Division #57; Taber and District Chamber of Commerce; and Taber Family and Community Support Services.

Everyone who completes the survey has the opportunity to enter into a draw for a $100 Visa gift card. It is open now and will remain open through Friday, March 8.

The survey is available at lethbridgecollege.ca/tabersurvey.
