Massage clinic opens for 20th anniversary year
The college’s Student Massage Therapy Clinic opens for the fall term today. Regular hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Prices range from $20 for a 30 minute massage to $45 for 90 minutes. What’s it like to be a student these days? Find out
Student for a Day registration opens. This is an opportunity for southern Alberta students in grades 11 or 12 to spend a day on campus experiencing a program of interest to them, paired with a current college student. The sessions will be held in October and November. Want to tag along for a student experience? Let us know. 
 

Wednesday, Sept. 19
On-campus Pride Day celebrates the LGBTQ+ community
Lethbridge College is showing its on-going commitment to the LGBTQ+ community, hosting an on-campus Pride Day. The day begins with a raising of the Pride Flag at 8:30 a.m. in the bus loop in front of the college. At noon, guest speaker Boban Stojanovic, a Serbian immigrant who is well known as an activist for the LGBTQ+ community, will hold a session in the Cave.

The college is also partnering with OUTreach Southern Alberta and ARCHES for a series of LGBTQ+ awareness sessions open to everyone in the community, including: 

  • LGBTQ+ Awareness and How to be an Ally, 11 a.m. to noon 
  • Queer 102, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. 
  • The Birds and the Birds, the Bees and the Bees, 3 to 4 p.m. 
     

Wednesday, Sept. 19 and Thursday, Sept. 20, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A dining and learning experience
The Garden Court Restaurant offers its first Lunch Express. One of Lethbridge’s best kept lunch secrets, meals are prepared by Culinary program students as they test their skills and gain experience. Served between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Lunch Express only happens six times in the fall semester. Call 403-320-3230 to reserve. Your next chance is Sept. 26 and Sept. 27. 
 

Saturday, Sept. 22
ACAC Cross Country Grand Prix
The Kodiaks will host a Grand Prix race for the first time since 2015 at Nicholas Sheran Park. This race is being run in conjunction with the annual Run for the Pumpkin community event and is open to the public to participate in any distance. Here’s the schedule: 

  • 2 km – 11 a.m. 
  • 4 km – noon 
  • 6 km – 1 p.m. (ACAC women) 
  • 8 km – 1:45 p.m. (ACAC men) 
     

Saturday, Sept. 22
Slowpitch, anyone?
Lethbridge College Students’ Association will hold a student slowpitch tournament in the field next to the Kodiaks soccer field all day.
