Blockchain expert comes to campus

AgENT, Lethbridge College’s extracurricular program for students to explore innovation and entrepreneurship, and the Centre for Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CARIE) will welcome guest speaker Anne Connelly, a Singularity University faculty member and blockchain and cryptocurrency expert, to The Pivot (TT2982). This event is open to students, staff and community partners. Space is limited so sign up for your free tickets in advance. Connelly is passionate about harnessing blockchain and decentralized technology to transform the lives of people in developing countries. She has been an active part of the global blockchain community since 2012 and has worked with notable companies including Bunz, Decentral and Ledger Labs. She previously worked with Doctors Without Borders Canada in Central African Republic and DR Congo, and currently serves on their board of directors. She has a Bachelor of Life Sciences from Queen’s University, an MBA from McMaster University and a Fintech Certificate from MIT. She was honoured as one of CBC’s 12 Young Leaders Changing Canada and one of the Fifty Most Inspirational Women in Technology in Canada. Unique gourmet dinner in its 11th year

Lethbridge College and the Canadian Celiac Association will join forces for the 11th annual Gluten- and Dairy-Free Dinner. The college’s Culinary Careers program students make a gourmet dinner that’s suitable for people on restricted diets. Tickets had to be purchased in advance.
