The Buchanan Library’s fall Food for Fines campaign runs now through Dec. 20. Students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members are invited to Give What You Can, by making a donation of nonperishable food at the library. If you have outstanding overdue fees, making a donation may be a way to have those fines forgiven. Some restrictions apply. Visit the library for details. All donations will go to the Lethbridge College Students’ Association food bank, which is experiencing high demand.

Classes are finished for the semester, but the learning never stops, as Lethbridge College offers Mental Health First Aid, a 12-hour training opportunity that is nationally recognized by the Mental Health Commission of Canada. The course aims to improve mental health literacy, increase comfort around responding to mental health issues, raise awareness of resources on campus and in the community and create a more inclusive environment. Holiday closure begins at end of day

Lethbridge College will close at end of day Friday for a holiday break, re-opening Tuesday, Jan. 2. During this time, Lethbridge College Health Services and onsite Shepell Counselling will be closed, but our students and staff can still access support if they need. For students, the Shepell Student Support Program phone number not only provides access to counselling and other scheduled services, it also acts as a crisis line, directly connecting a student with a crisis counsellor. Phone toll free: 1-855-649-8641. For staff, the Employee Assistance Program is accessible at 1-800-387-4765.

There’s an exception to every rule, and in our case, it’s Recreation Services. Users of our fitness centre, racquetball/squash courts, steam rooms and other amenities should note the following holiday hours if they plan to come sweat off some turkey, gravy and trimmings:
