One year of celebration just wasn’t enough, so Lethbridge College is bringing Coulee Fest back to campus this year. Featuring live music, family fun areas, food trucks, academic showcases, beer gardens and much more, the free Coulee Fest community festival will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15.

“We launched Coulee Fest last year as a celebration of our 60th anniversary and it was such a positive experience that we felt like we had to do it again,” says Dr. Paula Burns, Lethbridge College President and CEO. “This is the college’s chance to say thank you to all of southern Alberta for its support and we invite everyone to join us once again for a day of fun and celebration.”

Coulee-Fest-2018-2.jpg Coulee Fest is expanding in its second year, with more food trucks, more interactive Lethbridge College program exhibits and tours, a larger street market and more family fun options. All of it backed by a soundtrack of some of southern Alberta’s top live bands, including Adequate, White Chocolate Thunder, and Kavanagh and Hepher.

“We want to provide an experience that is fun for everyone, so we’ve worked hard to grow Coulee Fest this year” says Sydney Wakaruk, Lethbridge College Alumni Relations coordinator. “We know that so many people in Lethbridge and beyond have strong ties to the college and we urge them to come back, visit, explore the campus and celebrate all that has been built over more than 60 years.”

Coulee Fest will run from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15. Confirmed entertainment includes:

  • live music including performances by Adequate, White Chocolate Thunder, and Kavanagh and Hepher
  • beer gardens featuring limited edition Lethbridge College themed beer cans
  • family fun including a petting zoo, bouncy castles, face painting and lawn games
  • the Lethbridge College teepee and stories from the college’s Indigenous Grandparents
  • up to a dozen different food truck options
  • mini-games with Lethbridge College Kodiaks student-athletes
  • interactive showcases of Lethbridge College programs and campus tours
  • a street market with food, produce, hand-made crafts and much more
  • and much more!

Coulee-Fest-2018-3.jpg Admission to Coulee Fest is free. The activities will be centered on the green space on the east side of campus, outside of the Andrews building.
