The Lethbridge College Students Association’s (LCSA) Adopt-a-Family program provided 46 local student families with food and gifts this holiday season, including three from the college’s campus in Fort Macleod and two from Pincher Creek.

Of the families adopted, three were adopted by individual families, five by the students’ association, 11 by local churches, and 27 by college departments.

Christmas can be a difficult time for students and we want to do everything we can to ease their struggle,” says Angela Fretts, LCSA administrative assistant.   “Student families have been benefiting from this program for over 15 years thanks to the generosity of our community.”

While a description of each family is given, the families themselves remain anonymous.  Students picked up their baskets on Tuesday, Dec. 14.  Overall, 61 adults and 63 dependants benefited from this campaign.
