Experience the most up-to-date technology, including our 3D printer, as you chat with alumni and instructors about the many job opportunities available in this field. Explore interactive sessions, demonstrations and get a behind-the-scenes look at our Engineering Technologies labs.

Discovery Day Activities

Sessions will be ongoing between 10 a.m. to  2:00 p.m.

 

Lab Demos:

River Weir Dynamics

A flume (for open channel flow of water) will show how a weir works and why they are dangerous.

Concrete Test

A concrete cylinder will be crushed until failure showing how strong concrete is in compression.

Survey Challenge

Guess and measure a distance using surveying equipment (a total station and prisms).

Steel Test

A steel rod will be stretched until it fails to show the ultimate strength of the rod.

Revit® Architecture

Get an introduction to Autodesk® Revit® architectural software for the design of buildings.

Civil 3D®

Watch a demonstrate how Autodesk® Civil 3D® intelligently connects design and drafting to boost productivity and deliver higher-quality civil engineering solutions.

Inventor®

Learn about Autodesk® Inventor® which is software for 3D mechanical design, product simulation, tooling creation, and design communication. Inventor takes you beyond 3D to Digital Prototyping by enabling you to design, visualize, and simulate your products.

ARCGIS

Explore ArcGIS, an geographic information system ( GIS) for working with maps and geographic information. It isused for creating and using maps, compiling geographic data, analyzing mapped information, sharing and discovering geographic information, using maps and geographic information in a range of applications, and managing geographic information in a database.
