ENG-0030  English 0030  (6 Credits)  An exploration into developing an appreciation for literature and to acquire the skills of critical analysis and synthesis of ideas. Topics covered include the elements of fiction and non-fiction, poetic techniques, and conventions of drama. Students will read a variety of literature and both discuss and write short essays describing their responses, analyzing the work, or arguing a position related to an author's ideas. Students registering in this course should have successfully completed ENG-0032 or equivalent, or have been placed at this level through an assessment test.
