Clothing Repair and Mending | Claresholm Campus
Learn to make your (and your families) clothes last longer by learning basic repair techniques like hemming, repairing ripped seams and corner tears, patching, replacing zippers and pockets, and repurposing certain garments. The strongest repairs are done using a sewing machine and we will teach you the tips and tricks. The first evening we will learn repair techniques and the second evening we will tackle your mending pile. Participants are encouraged to bring their mending piles so we can get hands-on practice repairing your clothing.
You will need to bring a sewing machine in decent running condition and a few basic supplies including scissors, thread, pins, scrap materials for patching, your mending pile, and a can-do attitude.
