75% of first-time mental health diagnoses occur between the ages of 16 and 25
50% of students use campus mental health services with 10% being seen in urgent or crisis situations
The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) invites individuals, organizations, groups, and associations who are interested in informing the content of the Post-Secondary Students Standard (PSS Standard) to get involved by May 31!
The Learning Café and Accessibility Services will be hosting a workshop to discuss the issues and collect feedback for the MHCC PSS Standard. Join us for lunch to learn about this project and share (or "let loose") your ideas to promote student mental health and wellness. Your participation will not only help raise awareness of the project but also help ensure that this Standard is informed by perspectives from across the country, including Lethbridge College. To thank you for your time and input, lunch will be provided courtesy of the MHCC.
Please note: if you are unable to attend the workshop, there are other ways to contribute feedback.
1) please stop by our Survey Stations: Monday, April 1 (Centre Core 11am-1pm); Tuesday, April 2 (Trades 12-2pm), or April 3 (Centre Core 12-2pm). As thanks for your time and input, pizza will be provided by the MHCC.
2) Simply go directly to the MHCC website and complete the survey anonymously at your convenience: https://onlinesurvey.mentalhealthcommission.ca/s3/postsecondary
