- Civil Engineering Technology
Experience the most up-to-date technology, including our 3D printer, as you chat with alumni and instructors about the many job opportunities available in this field. Explore interactive sessions, demonstrations and get a behind-the-scenes look at our Engineering Technologies labs.
Discovery Day Activities
Sessions will be ongoing between 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
River Weir Dynamics
A flume (for open channel flow of water) will show how a weir works and why they are dangerous.
A concrete cylinder will be crushed until failure showing how strong concrete is in compression.
Guess and measure a distance using surveying equipment (a total station and prisms).
A steel rod will be stretched until it fails to show the ultimate strength of the rod.
Watch a 3D printer in action.
Get an introduction to Autodesk® Revit® architectural software for the design of buildings.
Watch a demonstrate how Autodesk® Civil 3D® intelligently connects design and drafting to boost productivity and deliver higher-quality civil engineering solutions.
Learn about Autodesk® Inventor® which is software for 3D mechanical design, product simulation, tooling creation, and design communication. Inventor takes you beyond 3D to Digital Prototyping by enabling you to design, visualize, and simulate your products.
