All members of the Lethbridge College (the college) community have a right to work and study in an environment that is free from any form of sexual violence. This policy sets out commitment statements that include safety, supports, prevention, training/education and awareness. Lethbridge College has zero tolerance for acts of sexual violence and will hold individuals who have committed such an act accountable. Sexual violence can have serious and wide-ranging impacts on individuals who have experienced sexual violence, as it can affect physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social health and well-being. Lethbridge College recognizes the traumatic effects of sexual violence and is committed to providing appropriate support and information about available options to individuals who have experienced sexual violence. This policy and its supporting procedures are intended to ensure an objective, supportive approach for those who have experienced sexual violence. Those who have experienced sexual violence will be believed and have their rights respected. The college will also ensure it has fair and clear processes that protect the rights of all individuals, including both individuals who have experienced sexual violence and those who are accused.
