WHAT HAPPENS NEXT IS UP TO YOU

Since our foundation in 1957 as Canada’s first publicly funded community college we have been connected with and committed to our community. The financial contributions of our donors — along with their ideas, imagination, time and energy — are investments that ensure our students will be ready for whatever their future holds. We can’t do it without you, and we’re grateful for your continued support.

When you give to Lethbridge College, you’ll be joining a proud and generous group of donors ready to make a difference. By supporting student awards, innovative research, capital infrastructure and new programs, your donations shape the future of our college community. We are committed to ensuring that the training we deliver continues to meet the needs of industry and employers.

Our Development team is here to connect the individuals, businesses, industry partners, and community organizations to the programs, projects and people that matter most to them. Contact us to learn more about how you can contribute to Lethbridge College.

But now - like people across the region and around the world – our students are struggling as they face financial hurdles and mental health and wellness challenges.

The Ready to Rise campaign will allow us to address our students’ most pressing needs.

Legacy Giving

Be ready to leave your legacy.

Make a lasting mark on Lethbridge College and ensure that your legacy lives on with a planned gift. Planned gifts can be immediate, or they can be deferred through a will. We are happy to work with you to help tailor your gift in a way that is most meaningful to you. Here are some of the ways you can leave a planned gift:

Gift of Securities

Securities are one of the easiest and most effective ways to give immediately (or through a gift in your will), while providing you with significant tax advantages. The securities of publicly traded companies that are acceptable by the college are those that are registered for trade at a securities exchange in Canada or the United States. These also include mutual funds and some retirement plans (RRSPs, RRIFs and TFSAs).

Bequest

A bequest allows you to make a major charitable contribution that may not be possible during your lifetime, and it reduces taxes payable on your estate. Your lawyer can prepare a new will or add a codicil to an existing will to allow your charitable wishes to be carried out. You remain in control of your assets and you can change your mind should your circumstances require it.

To learn more, contact us or your advisor. If you let us know that you have included Lethbridge College in your will, we can ensure that we document your wishes and implement them according to your plans. Talk to our team or your lawyer about sample wording to consider for your will.

Life Insurance

Life insurance can fulfil many needs, including providing for dependents and ensuring that your financial goals are achieved, as well as making a gift to advance education. If you’d like to discuss this option, please contact us or your advisor for the different ways you can structure this gift.

Non-monetary Gifts

At Lethbridge College, we are focused on giving students the knowledge and hands-on experience that is needed to excel in their future. Non-monetary gifts such as equipment, real estate or personal property including land, art or vehicles can assist us in innovative, engaging and immersive teaching and learning.

We encourage donors to discuss proposed planned gifts with their independent legal, financial and/or tax advisors to make sure that they receive a full and accurate explanation of all aspects of their proposed charitable gift.

Employee Giving

We also know that flexibility and agility is important, therefore there are many options and ways to make a difference in the lives of our students.
