The Lakeshore Campus of Lethbridge College ― through the Centre of Applied Arts and Sciences ― provides educational training to sentenced individuals at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre. Courses were first offered in the late 1970s and have evolved into the program we offer today.

Three educational streams are available for students: Academic Upgrading, Personal Development and Job Employment Training.

Each focuses on a different aspect of inmate education and development but work together to provide meaningful and relevant education to students in the Lethbridge Correctional Centre. All courses are designed based on the needs of an incarcerated individual, the directives of the Lethbridge Correctional Centre, the Ministries of Justice and the Solicitor General and Advanced Education.

The goal of Lakeshore Campus is to maximize the learning experience for inmates and improve their chances for successful reintegration and productive citizenship in society.

Lethbridge College ensures the quality and integrity of the course curriculum, the experience and expertise of the instructors and the effectiveness of course delivery. In 2016-2017, Lakeshore campus saw almost 1500 course registrations between the three educational streams.

The overall goal is to maximize the learning experience for inmates and improve their chances for successful reintegration and productive citizenship in society.

These programs are made possible by funding from Advanced Education.
